Hello, my
name is Danielle Haraughty. I am from
Upstate New York where I attended a
private high school and graduated with
honors. All through high school I played
varsity soccer, basketball and softball.
I then went to college in Rochester, N.Y. on a softball scholarship. In 1995 I
received B.A. in Psychology with a minor
in Sociology. As part of my studies
throughout college, I volunteered at a
local school and worked in a classroom
with emotionally disturbed children.
After college I taught in another local
school back in my hometown. It was
during this time I enrolled at Elmira College and began my Masters program. In
2000 I graduated with a Masters of
Science in Education and a
specialization in early childhood.
Once I received my Masters Degree I
moved to Southern Maryland where my
husband received orders to Naval Air
Station Patuxent River. While in Maryland I taught
preschool/kindergarten.
When it was time for my husband to
retire from the Navy, we were ready for
warmer weather! Although growing up in New York was great, I
don’t mind if I never see snow again!
The only hard part of moving is being
that much further away from my family.
My husband is from Arizona so he knew right
away he didn’t want to live where it
snows! So it was perfect timing when he
was offered a job here in the
Panama City
Beach
area. We couldn’t be happier! Everything
and everyone has been wonderful here! We
are enjoying not only the weather, but
the beaches and just about any outdoor
activity there is!
We are so excited
to be here and call Florida our home. I am
thrilled to be a part of St. Bernadette
Catholic School and am looking forward
to a wonderful year and working with all
of the 1st grade students and their
families! It is going to be a GREAT
year!
